Harp

This novel follows an android named Harp in a near-future world where artificial intelligence is commonplace. From her inception, Harp is trained by her Keeper, a doting cyberneticist, for the job of Translator—one who documents human stories and translates them into books, which are published by a mysterious corporation. The more knowledge Harp comes to have about the human experience, the more she questions her own programming, the rights and wrongs of the world in which she operates, and whether or not she can trust what she was born in to. Growing more intelligent each day, Harp begins to receive mysterious messages from an android scientist and philosopher lost long ago to time, and starts to dream more and more about the possibilities of a world outside of the one she has only begun to experience.
