Neural network modeling for brain visual cortex

The human brain receives and processes different kinds of information concurrently and makes decision without conflict. The brain utilizes its network of neurons that have both sensory and memory abilities for processing information. The cortex, composed of folded neural tissues in the brain plays an important role in perception, awareness, memory, thought, and consciousness. The visual cortex, a part of the cerebral cortex is responsible for the processing of visual information. It is desirable to replicate the abilities of the brain in machines. Neural Networks are well adapted for artificial models that are capable of performing these tasks. MATLAB has a Neural Networks toolbox which has been utilized for modeling the function of the brain visual cortex.
