Uncovering the hidden plot in Vladimir Nabokov's Pale Fire: a novel reading

In this thesis, I propose a new interpretation of Vladimir Nabokov's Pale Fire that responds to the twentieth-century criticism on the novel. First, I consider a representative sample of the criticism that exists on Pale Fire and find a number of problems that have not been solved by existing theories. Then, I propose a creative new interpretation with which I attempt to solve several of the novel's interpretive challenges. Finally, I include a chapter on the future of Pale Fire criticism in light of this new discovery.
